UFC 247: Israel Adesanya says Jon Jones is ‘washed up’ after Dominick Reyes fight
- UFC middleweight champion says ‘I’ve seen what I needed to see’ and that he’s ‘the guy’ to beat Jones
- ‘Stylebender’ thinks pound-for-pound No 1 Jones is ‘done’ and that his best years are behind him

Jon Jones may have ignored questions about Israel Adesanya after eking out a win against Dominick Reyes, but “Stylebender” isn’t holding back.
Adesanya has piled in on Jones after a less than convincing display at UFC 247, where Reyes was unlucky to come away without the lightweight title amid judging controversy.
Jones (26-1, one no contest) and Adesanya (18-0) have been trading insults back and forth on social media for months as they seemingly build towards a super-fight, and the middleweight champion feels he has it in the bag.
“I’ve seen him. I’ve seen what I needed to see,” Adesanya told Sporting News. “In the fifth round, he tried to turn it on, but he couldn’t. Compare his fifth round to my fifth round against Kelvin Gastelum; there’s a difference.
“He’s washed up. He’s done. His best years are behind him. He’s still great, but he’s washed up now. He wasn’t doing s***. He was winning the rounds, but it wasn’t really doing s***. He was trying, but there’s levels to this.
