Norway’s Emil Meek is days out from a welterweight scrap with Jake Matthews, which takes place on the undercard of Sunday’s UFC Auckland event.
The bout will be Meek’s first since a pair of 2018 decision losses to Kamaru Usman and Bartosz Fabinski. While he’s spent much of his absence recovering from nagging injuries, he’s also put in plenty of work in the gym, and feels far superior to the fighter he was when he last competed.
“I would beat up the old me,” Meek told the Post, laughing.
