The Brian Ortega-Jay Park saga has taken another twist.
“T-City” finally broke his silence three days on from slapping the Korean music artist in a cage-side bust-up at UFC 248 last weekend in Las Vegas.
Park was watching the show with friend and business partner “The Korean Zombie” Jung Chan-sung at the T-Mobile Arena. But when Jung went to the bathroom during Joanna Jedrzejczyk’s co-main event walkout, he was approached by an angry Ortega.
The American featherweight was mad over an interview Park translated for “Zombie”, where he said Ortega “ducked” Jung when he withdrew injured from their UFC Busan fight in December.


“I want to officially apologise to JPark for Saturday night, when Zombie is ready we can fight,” Ortega tweeted.
Jung had angrily reacted to the incident, and vowed to knock out Ortega in the Octagon and leave his face bloody.


Earlier on Tuesday night, Jung had taken aim at jiu-jitsu legend Rener Gracie for siding with Ortega in the dispute.
“Slapping a translator makes you a bully. Slapping an instigator makes you BULLYPROOF,” Grace had written on Instagram, after Ortega pointed out that Park signed Jung to a management contract under AOMG Entertainment in 2018.
“@renergracie I cannot believe you wrote this! Jay Park never asked me to write anything and get myself involved in this situation,” Jung wrote in his own post.

Is it okay for someone to solve a problem physically before attempting to fix it verbally? Do you guys tell your students that it’s okay to do that at Gracie Jiu Jitsu? I truly thought that you would scold Ortega for his childish behavior because he should have never hit a civilian. I am deeply disappointed in you. #zombieapocalypse
