UFC 249: Khabib hits back at Conor McGregor – ‘he’s like old prostitute, his time is done’
- UFC lightweight champion takes exception to McGregor saying ‘I’m in shape to fight right now’
- ‘He wants attention,’ says Khabib, as Irishman goads old rival and teases Tony Ferguson bout
When it comes to Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor, it’s clear time doesn’t heal all wounds.
Unsurprisingly, McGregor had his say after Khabib appeared to withdraw from his UFC 249 fight against Tony Ferguson, citing logistical problems of getting out of Russia.
The Irishman said his old rival “chickened out” and tried to goad him on social media by asking the UFC lightweight champion to “add me in” to his Instagram Live session on Thursday.
“You know what I feel, he look like old prostitute who want attention,” Khabib said in an interview with ESPN’s Brett Okamoto. “His time is done. Just tell him, and that’s it.”
McGregor had teased fans hoping he might possibly step in as a late replacement for the undefeated Russian against Ferguson when he tweeted “I’m in shape to fight right now”.
