UFC superstar Conor McGregor has been an outspoken voice when it comes to helping the people of his native Ireland during the Covid-19 crisis, taking on somewhat of a leadership role.

The former two-weight UFC champion has posted inspirational videos urging people to stay at home and calling for better leadership and increased safety measures from the government, which this week received personal protective equipment supplies sent by China, where the outbreak of the virus began.

And after Irish health services chief executive Paul Reid announced some of this equipment had been deemed defective during inspection, “The Notorious” turned his ire on Chinese authorities.

“Truly horrendous,” McGregor wrote.

“Not only are the prices being raised by these people on all our items. Masks, visors, gloves, ventilators, respirators, oxygen containers, screen monitors, you name it. All jacked in price. The batches coming in are now of no use!

“Ludicrously inhumane behaviour,” McGregor added.
