Dominick Reyes (12-1) says his priority is to avenge his narrow title fight-loss to Jon Jones (26-1) – but would consider facing Jan Blachowicz (26-8) if the rematch is off.

Champion Jones, who was arrested for the fourth time last month for driving while intoxicated (DWI) and other charges, defended his belt against Reyes at UFC 247 in February.

“The first thing I thought was, ‘again? What is this guy doing?’. Second was ‘I’m glad it didn’t happen before our fight. Then third was ‘this guy needs some real help’,” Reyes said on MMA Fighting’s What the Heck show. “No [I don’t feel bad for him], not at all. I feel bad for a lot of people but not Jon Jones. Never.

“[The fight] was exactly how I remember it going, it was actually better than I remember it going, so that was cool. It could have been 4-1 to me ... it is what it is, we’ll come back and we’ll knock him out next time,” Reyes said, who insisted he would have given Jones the rematch “if the judges would have scored it right”.

“I think [Jones’] punishment should be to rematch Dom, right? It makes sense. I’ll serve up some justice, I’m fine with that. Let’s do it,” added Reyes, who beat Chris Weidman, Volkan Oezdemir, Ovince St Preux and Jared Cannonier before getting his first pro career loss against Jones. “That is accurate [that Jon was the only one holding the fight up].”
