Do not sleep on 35-year-old welterweight Jorge Masvidal because he has more tools than anybody in the game, says Mike Brown, one of MMA’s most respected coaches.
Masvidal (35-13) has been one of the UFC’s top draws after outperforming British contender Darren Till, knocking out Ben Askren in a record-breaking five seconds, and beating Nate Diaz to win the promotion’s one-off BMF belt last year. The Cuban-American fights out of American Top Team (ATT) in Florida, US.
“This guy has more experience than anybody. This guy is not somebody who just had a lucky fight or two,” said ATT coach Brown to MMA Junkie’s Danny Segura over social media.

“This guy is a more than 50-fight veteran, who knows more techniques than anybody in the game. He has more weapons than anybody – a guy who's got great boxing, great Muay Thai skills, techniques from Taekwondo, good wrestling, good jiu-jitsu ... this guy has more techniques than anybody I've met and can apply them.”
The former street fighter was rumoured to be fighting welterweight champion Kamaru Usman but the bout has since been in question after UFC president Dana White said he had “something interesting” for Masvidal.
