UFC welterweight prospect Miguel Baeza collects another KO against veteran Matt Brown
- After being knocked down in the first round, Baeza comes back to knock out ‘the boogieman’ Brown
- ‘Caramel Thunder’ says he saw Brown’s face across the Octagon and said ‘let’s fight’

Welterweight prospect Miguel Baeza backed up the hype after knocking out veteran Matt Brown in the second round at UFC Fight Night 176 in Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday night.
Baeza (9-0) maintained his undefeated professional record with his second win in the Octagon, but it did not come easy. The 39-year-old Brown (24-17) had knocked Baeza down in the first round, with referee Jason Herzog close to stopping the fight.
The 27-year-old Baeza, who earned a contract with the promotion after a good showing in Dana White’s Contender Series last year, came back in the second round with a great counter hook to a forward-moving Brown.
“You know you come in here with a game plan but I saw [Brown’s] face and was like, ‘Let’s fight’,” he said.

“I got caught. He’s a legend, I’m totally blessed to just be here with him. What happened was I was trying to get my bearings right. He had landed some good shots but I got the recovery and identified [the problem]. I gotta go back to the drawing board.”
