UFC: Eddie Alvarez joins in criticism of Joe Silva with embarrassing story of former matchmaker
- Former UFC lightweight champ joins in the pile-on, recalling hotel interaction with ‘bitter, angry, small little man’ Silva
- ‘Success is how you destroy your enemies,’ says ONE Championship star, who got his own back after winning title

Former UFC matchmaker Joe Silva has been the centre of criticism from a lot of fighters this week.
The issue of fighter pay in the UFC has been amplified in recent weeks, as high-profile fighters like Conor McGregor, Jon Jones, Jorge Masvidal and Henry Cejudo stand their ground with the company.
Several UFC veterans like Gray Maynard, Mike Pierce, and Jon Fitch have also started dishing the dirt on their interactions while negotiating with Silva – or “that hobbit dirt bag” as Pierce called him.
Eddie Alvarez, the former UFC lightweight champ now with Asian promotion ONE Championship, is the latest star name to join in the pile-on.
“While the Me too movement on Joe Silva continues … I got an incredible Joe Silva story myself but my momma always told me that if ‘I ain’t got nothing good to say, then don’t say nothing at all’,” Alvarez initially wrote on Twitter.
“The Underground King”, who claimed the title from Rafael dos Anjos in July 2016, eventually relented and told his story, however.
