“I can’t convince Conor to do s***,” said John Kavanagh during a video live chat with MMA World. “Conor will tell Conor what he’s going to do. And who knows? Who knows what’s gonna happen in the future, but for now, he’s retired.”
McGregor, who last fought and beat Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone at UFC 246 in January in a stunning 40 seconds, announced his third retirement via Twitter on June 6. While many MMA fans felt it was a publicity stunt given its timing shortly after a UFC card, McGregor’s coach said he doesn’t have any reason to think otherwise.
“Is Conor retired? Yes, he is as far as I can tell. That’s what he said, isn’t it?”
While McGregor has publicly stated he is retired, he is still making news via his various social media accounts. He posted a video on his Instagram account showcasing his new “Reebok King” personal track suit.
