While Jon “Bones” Jones has not fought since February, he has offered no shortage of news via his social media accounts.

On the Fourth of July, the American (26-1, one no contest) posted a photo with his hand on a man’s chest stating: “We found this man laying in the middle of a field today, he was suffering from severe dehydration. The group honestly believe we saved that man’s life. It felt amazing, those men and women were heroes out there today.”

UFC light heavyweight champion Jones posted a number of photos of himself in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he lives, including a photo with the man to his Twitter as well. He received a variety of reactions from users, which prompted him to post two responses: “Yes, we dragged him underneath a tree and forced him to drink about four water bottles. Even got him to bite a hot dog before we left.”

Jones also responded to a user who was mocking his post, writing: “Definitely not trying to paint myself as some hero. I was more proud for my group members to be honest. Some of the younger kids got to learn some valuable lessons today.”

Jones has made the news in 2020 for a variety of reasons. In June, he said he was “listening” when it came to a potential superfight with legendary boxer Mike Tyson, who is 54. Jones has also publicly feuded with Dana White after the UFC president said Jones was seeking “Deontay Wilder money” in a potential superfight with heavyweight Francis Ngannou.
