UFC and CrossFit collide as champion Mat Fraser offers Jon Jones workout tips

  • The two icons of their respective sports appear to be swapping workout tips as Jones posted a video of Fraser on his Instagram

The world of the UFC and CrossFit have finally collided, as two of the sport’s most notable stars have connected in an Instagram post.
Jon “Bones” Jones posted a short clip on his Instagram account that features four-time CrossFit Games champion Mat Fraser in which he explains the best way to do a GHD (glute ham developer) sit-up, which is a popular move in the sport of CrossFit. Fraser appears to be responding to Jones, stating: “You’re GHD’s look really good, so there is kind of two different ways to do them.”

Fraser then demonstrates the two ways you can do GHD’s and Jones posted the video with the caption: “Honor to be getting tips from one of the most fit athletes of our generation.”

Fraser has won the CrossFit Games dating back to 2016, looking to capture a fifth straight title this September when CrossFit hosts a scaled-down version of the competition in California due to coronavirus restrictions.

CrossFit has been embroiled in controversy lately, as former CEO and founder Greg Glassman stepped down after publishing an offensive tweet, and is now in the process of selling CrossFit Inc. to tech businessman Eric Roza.

Jones has also been in the news as of late, teasing a potential super fight with Mike Tyson, battling with UFC president Dana White over fighters’ pay in the UFC and being arrested in June for drink driving, though he did not receive a jail sentence.
