‘Queen of Violence’ Ariane Lipski on brutal UFC Fight Island 2 kneebar submission – ‘I had fun’
- Brazilian Lipski submits compatriot Luana Carolina in 88 seconds of first round with painful submission hold in Abu Dhabi
- ‘I saw that position, I have trained this,’ says the 26-year-old, who is now eyeing the UFC flyweight rankings

There’s a reason Ariane Lipski is nicknamed the “Queen of Violence”.
The 26-year-old Brazilian (13-5) put the UFC’s flyweight division on notice with a brutal first-round knee bar finish of Luana Carolina (6-2) at UFC Fight Island 2 in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. It earned her a US$50,000 bonus for performance of the night.
“I’m so happy,” she told media in a post-fight interview. “I was confident in my training camp that I understood my game plan. I just wanted to go in there and have fun and entertain people at home, and just show much I’ve improved.”
“I saw that position, I have trained this position, and then I pushed her leg and submitted her,” was Lipski’s succinct assessment of the violent submission hold she forced her compatriot to tap out to after just 88 seconds in the Octagon.
After dropping two losses in her first two UFC fights against Joanne Calderwood and Molly McCann in 2019, both by unanimous decision, Lipski is now on a two-fight win streak after turning the corner with a unanimous decision over Isabela de Padua at UFC Sao Paulo in November.
And she is finally starting to live up to the reputation – and that nickname – she built in Polish-based promotion KSW, where she had four finishes in five wins and was the flyweight champion.
