Georges St-Pierre has been open to making a second U-turn on retirement and challenging Khabib Nurmagomedov in the Octagon. But what about putting his legacy on the line against Kamaru Usman?

“For me, I think it’s better if I stay retired,” the 39-year-old UFC Hall of Famer told TMZ Sports.

Usman (17-1) tied the legendary Canadian St-Pierre (26-2) for most consecutive wins in the UFC welterweight division (12) after defending his title against Jorge Masvidal by unanimous decision at UFC 251 on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi.

“I need to stay objective and smart about my decisions and right now to come back and fight for the welterweight title against Kamaru Usman and risk it all, there is more cons than pros, so it’s not worth it,” St-Pierre told TMZ.

“I have other big projects. I still stay a big fan of the sport, I love to watch Kamaru, all the best guys in the sport,” he added. “I saw the fight. He’s amazing. He’s very, very smart. Everybody talks about his physical abilities and skills but his best attribute is his brain. He’s very good at becoming the perfect nemesis for his opponent. He fought an amazing fight. He’s going to be one of the best if he keeps going.”
