ONE Championship: Denice Zamboanga wants Angela Lee title shot after 87-second submission win at A New Breed
- Filipino ‘Menace’ makes light work of Watsapinya Kaewkhong with first-round victory by Americana in Bangkok
- ‘Hopefully everything gets back to normal and I get a title shot soon,’ says Zamboanga – ‘but I want to stay active before fighting Angela’

Denice Zamboanga has called for a title shot against ONE Championship atomweight champ Angela Lee after swatting aside the challenge of Watsapinya Kaewkhong at A New Breed on Friday night in Bangkok.
“The Menace” (5-0) submitted her Thai opponent via Americana after just 87 seconds of the first round at the Impact Arena to get her first finish in ONE.
“I’m very happy that I won tonight, because it’s my first time to win via submission,” the Filipino 23-year-old told SCMP MMA after the fight. “If you saw my record. it’s all decisions.
“I didn’t make a Kimura in my training at all,” she added, smiling.
The victory came after back-to-back unanimous decisions for Zamboanga in ONE. She had an impressive win over former challenger Mei Yamaguchi (21-12) at February’s King of the Jungle event in Singapore, which had propelled her to a scheduled bout against “Unstoppable” Lee (10-2) before the outbreak of the coronavirus.
