ONE Championship’s new Muay Thai sensation Wondergirl Fairtex is making plans to follow her training partner Stamp Fairtex into mixed martial arts.

The 21-year-old Thai has quickly racked up two TKOs in the strawweight division after debuting with the Asian martial arts organisation in July.

She is only signed to compete in the ONE Super Series, which is comprised of kick-boxing and Muay Thai, but is already setting her sights on competing in a third sport.

“Oh yeah, sure, I wanna try MMA too – that’s the reason I came here, to Fairtex Gym, because of MMA,” she told SCMP MMA.

Stamp is 4-0 in ONE’s atomweight MMA division, and is likely to be included in next year’s eight-woman atomweight grand prix championship tournament to determine pregnant champ Angela Lee’s next opponent. And the former ONE kick-boxing and Muay Thai champ thinks Wondergirl has what it takes to emulate her success, having observed her in training.

“She’s got good technique man, she’s learned a lot,” Stamp said. “When she doesn’t know, she asks everything – why this, why this. Wondering, always wondering.”
