UFC: Dana White in talks with Khabib over shock retirement U-turn – ‘have a feeling he might go for 30-0’
- UFC president has a ‘feeling’ retired lightweight champ will fight one more time to honour late father’s wish
- ‘He was completely emotional that night when he got through that fight … I think he’s not going to retire,’ adds White

UFC president Dana White has revealed he is in talks with Khabib Nurmagomedov and believes the lightweight champ could perform a stunning U-turn on his shock retirement.
“I want to say it was my last fight, and no way I’m gonna come here without my father,” said the 32-year-old. His father and coach Abdulmanap died in July, aged 57, because of complications stemming from contracting the coronavirus.
Nurmagomedov added he promised his mother that he would hang up his gloves following his bout against American Gaethje (22-3), in an emotional interview with UFC commentator Jon Anik.
“Khabib and I have been talking,” White told The Zach Gelb Show on CBS Sports Radio, though. “He was completely emotional that night when he got through that fight. I have a feeling that he might go for 30-0.”
