ONE Championship: Wondergirl Fairtex wants Muay Thai title, then MMA move
- The 21-year-old Thai gets her jiu-jitsu blue belt ahead of ONE return vs Jackie Buntan at Fists of Fury in Singapore
- ‘She’s tough, technical … but I think my reach is better and I have my powerful hands too,’ says Wondergirl

Nat “Wondergirl Fairtex” Jaroonsak returns to the ONE Championship circle next week in Singapore, knowing another spectacular highlight reel knockout can fast track her claim for Muay Thai gold – and then a move into MMA.
The 21-year-old Thai, a two-time national champion, went 2-0 in the ONE super series with a second-round doctor stoppage over Filipino-American KC Carlos last August, after a first-round TKO of Australian Brooke Farrell a month earlier.
She faces Jackie Buntan at ONE: Fists of Fury on February 26, but admitted eventually crossing into mixed martial arts is firmly on her mind.
“I just got my blue belt [in jiu-jitsu] last week,” Wondergirl told SCMP MMA. “I always join the class. Even if I don’t have energy I just watch or drill, no rolling, and I got promoted last week.
“The reason I came here to Fairtex in the first place is because of MMA. Actually, I want to fight MMA. But I got the opportunity to fight Muay Thai in ONE first so I took it.
