UFC: Jairzinho Rozenstruik plans to ‘kill the hype’ around Ciryl Gane
- ‘This guy has a lot of hype. It’s a big opportunity to show exactly what I am,’ says ‘Bigi Boy’ ahead of UFC Vegas 20 main event
- ‘I have to stop him … I don’t want to give my spot away, and it wasn’t given to me’

Jairzinho Rozenstruik is geared up to “kill the hype” surrounding heavyweight up-and-comer Ciryl Gane.
No 3-ranked “Bigi Boy” (11-1) returns to fight undefeated 30-year-old Frenchman Gane (7-0) in the UFC Vegas 20 main event in Las Vegas on February 27.
The 32-year-old Suriname native has been sitting on the sidelines since August’s TKO of former champ Junior dos Santos, waiting for another title contender to be available. But Rozenstruik will now risk it all against the surging seventh-ranked prospect.
“I want to fight,” Rozenstruik told SCMP MMA. “So any fighter that they give me or is available for me, I just fight.
“Right now, this guy has a lot of hype. It’s a big opportunity to kill the hype and show exactly what I am. Why I’m there. It’s not that it was given to me.
