When some big shoes to fill, Victoria Lee announced herself on the ONE Championship stage in emphatic fashion on Friday night.

The 16-year-old sister of ONE atomweight champ Angela Lee and lightweight champ Christian Lee, “The Prodigy” (1-0), lived up to her name with a second-round submission win over Sunisa Srisen (4-2) at the promotion’s Fists of Fury card in Singapore.

“I was very impressed with Victoria Lee‘s incredible performance,” ONE chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong wrote in a Facebook post on Saturday. “I still can’t believe Victoria is only 16 years old. When I was 16 years old, I couldn’t even tie my shoelaces.

“She definitely lived up to the hype against a tough and game opponent in Srisen. Without a doubt, Victoria Lee is the next big thing in martial arts.”

In an interview backstage after the atomweight bout, Lee admitted she was nervous as she walked out to the cage at the Singapore Indoor Stadium alongside her father and coach Ken Lee.
