UFC: Ciryl Gane puts on a clinic for clean sweep vs Jairzinho Rozenstruik in heavyweight main event
- Frenchman gets scores of 50-45 across the board in dominant unanimous decision
- ‘Yes, I want to be in the discussion now,’ says Gane of heavyweight title picture
Ciryl Gane put on a clinic of utilising speed and range control to frustrate Jairzinho Rozenstruik (11-2) for five rounds and earn a dominant unanimous decision in the UFC Vegas 20 main event.
Undefeated 30-year-old Frenchman Gane (8-0) picked up scores of 50-45 across the board in Las Vegas on Saturday night, and his fifth win in the UFC – one that will shoot him into the top four of the heavyweight rankings, and the title picture.
“He hasn’t got a mark on his face,” Michael Bisping observed on commentary.
“Yes, I want to be in the discussion now,” Gane told the former middleweight champ’s fellow analyst Paul Felder in his post-fight interview at the Apex facility.
“I have 8-0. I have studied MMA just three years, I have little experience, but I am confident. So if you need me for something I’m here. If some guy is injured for the belt, I am here.”
