UFC: Angela Hill backs Dominick Cruz in row with Monster Energy’s Hans Molenkamp – ‘I’m wary of him’
- ‘Fighters are tough guys, no one wants to be belittled,’ says Cruz’s Alliance training partner Hill
- ‘When you have a guy who makes you do things you’re uncomfortable for, but you’re reliant on the sponsorship, that’s a bad situation’

Dominick Cruz caused a huge stir with a call-out – seemingly from left field – of Monster Energy’s Hans Molenkamp after a win at UFC 259 last Saturday.
After “The Dominator” challenged Molenkamp to a charity fight, UFC president Dana White tried to downplay the row, but plenty of 36-year-old American Cruz’s fellow fighters voiced their support – including his Alliance teammate, Angela Hill, who fights Ashley Yoder this Saturday at UFC Vegas 21.
“He has pissed off a lot of fighters, it seems,” Hill told SCMP MMA. “Just from what I’ve heard, he makes people take videos with him and pose. He builds this false image online and on social media, which seems kinda harmless.
“But at the same time he’ll do something like make Dom do pads with him during fight week. This guy doesn’t know what he’s doing. I don’t go to basics class any more because it’s so easy to get injured by someone who’s clumsy and doesn’t know how to hold pads. Something like that just seems insane to me, that he would insert himself into someone’s fight camp during a title fight.
