UFC: Kevin Holland calls out Darren Till – ‘somebody’s gotta die when we scrap’

  • ‘If I get to fight Till, I’ll be super happy – I understand what it means to fight Till,’ Holland says
  • ‘Great guy, good man, but somebody has to go,’ adds the UFC’s No 10-ranked middleweight

UFC middleweight champ Israel Adesanya is seemingly keen on giving Darren Till a title shot should “The Gorilla” get past Marvin Vettori. But naturally, “Big Mouth” Kevin Holland has had his say on it.

“See you soon my boy,” Holland wrote in an Instagram story, telling Adesanya to “keep dreaming” and suggesting he himself should get Till next if he beats Derek Brunson at UFC Vegas 22 this weekend.

“I just like getting in the mix,” Holland told SCMP MMA. “So they get to talking about something, and I say, ‘No!’ That’s just me.”

Adesanya has said Till needs to “keep winning”, and the Nigeran-Kiwi’s coach suggested the Briton is one of only two opponents – the other being former champ Robert Whittaker – they are interested in facing.

A complicated picture is playing out at the top of the division – No 4 middleweight Till faces the fifth-ranked “Italian Dream” Vettori on April 10, while No 8 Kelvin Gastelum will step in to fight top contender Whittaker a week later after Paulo Costa withdrew because of illness.
