ONE Championship chairman Chatri Sityodtong has revealed his former vice-president Miesha Tate has designs on regaining the UFC title after she announced a shock return to the Octagon.

Former UFC bantamweight champion Tate (18-7) retired in 2016 before joining Asian martial arts organisation ONE as a vice-president two years later, moving to Singapore with her family.

But having moved back to Las Vegas and resuming training after the birth of her second child, the 34-year-old American dropped on bombshell on Wednesday when she revealed she will face fellow UFC veteran Marion Renau (9-7-1) on July 17.

“Congratulations to my friend Miesha Tate on her comeback!” Chatri wrote in a Facebook post.

“When she first approached me with the idea several months ago, I thought it was a crazy idea. It is a reminder that dreams are never crazy to the person going after them, but only to the world.
