Calm, patient Francis Ngannou may be the scariest person on the planet.

“The Predator” (16-3) showed he learned all the lessons from his first fight with Stipe Miocic (20-4), picking his moments to pick apart the heavyweight champion – a contender for the title of greatest of all time – and knock him out 52 seconds into the second round of the UFC 260 main event on Saturday night.

He had even showed improved takedown defence too, stuffing after the Croatian-American’s early shot in the first round, having been taken down at will over five long rounds in January 2018. Miocic was forced to stand with the 34-year-old Cameroonian, and that is never going to last too long.

“That night of January 18 was the biggest night of my life,” Ngannou told Joe Rogan in his post-fight interview at the Apex facility in Las Vegas.

“It might sound weird to say this, but even though I didn’t have a belt, I knew I didn’t lose that fight, in how I got my experience and learned about mixed martial arts – how to manage a fight.
