Janet Todd wants a chance at earning a ONE Championship interim atomweight Muay Thai title after crumpling Anne Line Hogstad with a third-round liver kick TKO.

The Japanese-American took out the No 3-ranked Norwegian Hogstad in the ONE on TNT 2 co-main event, which was recorded last week in Singapore and broadcast on Thursday morning.

“I hope I get the opportunity to fight for the interim title, if there is an interim title, or an eight-woman, US$1 million Super Series tournament,” she said in her post-fight interview, calling on ONE chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong to make it happen.

Todd took the Asian martial arts promotion’s atomweight kick-boxing title from Stamp Fairtex in a split decision in February 2020, after Stamp had beaten her to win the inaugural Muay Thai title a year earlier by unanimous decision.

The 35-year-old California native, who trains out of Boxing Works, has since taken out two of the top five in the Muay Thai division to press her claim for a shot at gold.

However, champ Allycia Hellen Rodrigues revealed in March she was three months’ pregnant, with the Brazilian unlikely to return to the ring until 2022.
