Eddie Alvarez will get a quick turnaround in ONE Championship and return on April 29 to face either Marat Gafurov or Ok Rae-yoon.

The former UFC lightweight champion (30-8, one no contest) was handed a first-round disqualification for illegal shots against Iuri Lapicus (15-1) at ONE on TNT 1 last week in Singapore.

Alvarez revealed in an interview with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani this week he would be fighting on the Asian promotion’s next live card, and ONE chairman and CEO Chatri confirmed his potential opponents to SCMP MMA.

“Yes, if Eddie said that. Did he say that? If he said that, then yes, I guess the cat’s out of the bag,” Chatri said. “He is coming back to Singapore in short order, he will be fighting on ONE on TNT 4 and his opponent will be determined.”

Former featherweight champ Gafurov’s (18-3) bout with South Korea’s Ok (13-3) was pre-recorded on April 8, and will be broadcast next week on ONE on TNT 3, though the results have not been released.
