Eddie Alvarez has warned ONE Championship lightweight king Christian Lee it is a matter of when, not if, he wins the title.

The 37-year-old American has received a quick turnaround in the Asian promotion following April 8’s disqualification loss – overturned to a no contest this week – against Iuri Lapicus.

The former UFC and Bellator will fight No 5-ranked Ok Rae-yoon in Thursday’s ONE on TNT 4 co-main event in Singapore, knowing an impressive victory could earn him the chance to secure an unprecedented hat-trick of world titles.

“Like Thanos, I am inevitable,” Alvarez said. “I’ll get the last stone and I’ll defend it. It’s that simple. I don’t make too many plans too far out. I join organisations and wanna be the champion, I get fixated on it.

“I really don’t make a plan B or C. I make one plan and make sure I focus on that, and get to it. I win the ONE lightweight title, I defend the title, and then who knows, maybe ONE will have super fights. There’s plenty of killers in this division, up and comers and guys already here to defend the belt against.”

Alvarez also praised Lee for his first-round TKO win at ONE on TNT 2 against Timofey Nastyukhin – the man whom Alvarez lost to on his ONE debut by the same result.
