ONE Championship: Christian Lee says Eddie Alvarez’s call-out, trash talk ‘just makes me laugh’
- ONE lightweight champ says Ok Rae-yoon is next – or a crack at welterweight title
- Lee insists ‘there’s no way to warrant a title shot’ for former UFC champ Alvarez, and that ‘even if we never cross paths you can see who’s the better fighter’

Christian Lee has laughed off Eddie Alvarez’s trash talk and attempts to goad him into a fight, insisting he will defend his ONE Championship lightweight title against Ok Rae-yoon or go for the welterweight belt next.
South Korea’s Ok secured a shock unanimous decision against Alvarez in April to consign the former UFC champ to a second defeat – with one no contest – in his four outings in the Asian promotion.
That has not stopped the 37-year-old American trying to secure a title shot. “If the promotion believed you could beat me this fight would’ve happened already,” he wrote on a tweet tagging Lee. “I’d finish you whenever I wanted.”
Alvarez also insisted he actually beat Ok and Iuri Lapicus – whom he was initially disqualified against for illegal blows to the back of the head at ONE on TNT 1 in Singapore.
“It’s just kinda funny, I just laugh at it,” Lee told SCMP MMA. “Of course, Eddie is gonna do whatever he can do to get himself the title shot. Coming from the UFC, a big part of their marketing is trash talk. Go on social media, stir up some noise, then you’ll get a fight.
