UFC Vegas 29: ‘The Korean Zombie’ says bring on the brawl against Dan Ige
- Jung Chan-sung and ‘50K’ clash in Saturday’s main event with possible title run on the line for both fighters
- ‘If he’s ready to brawl, then I’m ready to brawl. I have prepared to be ready to match any pace,’ says Jung

“The Korean Zombie” has had his game face on this week as he prepares for battle against rising American featherweight star Dan Ige in the headline bout at UFC Vegas 29.
There has been little banter from Jung Chan-sung, and a singular focus that comes across as more than a little bit scary, even on a Zoom line that keeps us (safely) separated by about 12,000km.
What the No 4-ranked Jung does want to share with the world is that he has worked on his conditioning and his striking, and that he has all the power necessary to defeat Ige – and put himself back in the title picture.
“It’s all going to depend on how Dan is prepared and how he comes out,” Jung said. “If he’s ready to brawl, then I’m ready to brawl. I’ve prepared to be ready to match any pace he thinks he can take the fight.”
When SCMP MMA caught up with the 34-year-old Korean, he was kicking back with his entourage in his Las Vegas hotel room and he appeared about as calm as a man can get, given everything that’s on the line at the UFC Apex facility.
