John Lineker has claimed Bibiano Fernandes is asking ONE Championship for “absurd amounts” of money to defend his bantamweight title against him, as their social media feud escalated.
“Hands of Stone” respectfully called out his fellow Brazilian in an Instagram post this week, asking for a title shot, but Fernandes fired back at him for “crying”.
“The Flash” also took digs at Lineker over drug testing and repeatedly missing weight in the UFC before he was released in July 2019.
“Mr. Bibiano, I understand your despair!” Lineker wrote in an Instagram post on Thursday, via translation.


“For the countless attempts and absurd numbers $$$ that he asks to accept a fight with me, which I had and was with RESPECT to ask him to accept the fight through social media.
“After all, fighters fight. You can’t spend your life [holding onto] the title.”

The 41-year-old Fernandes (24-4) has not fought since a second-round submission of Kevin Belingon in October 2019, and told SCMP MMA this month he has not even been offered a fight since.
In the same time frame, former Jungle Fight bantamweight champ Lineker (34-9) has reeled off three victories – including TKOs of former champ Belingon and Troy Worthen in his last two fights – to quickly establish himself as the No 1 contender in the Asian promotion.

“Remembering that it’s not the first title of my career and I didn’t use any rivalry either, it was you who despaired of attacking me,” Lineker added.
“We are the old fashioned way, so, no more postponing right?! Let’s do our job. Unlike you, I’ve been through Usada several times, don’t worry. I await the contract, I’m here to fight.”
