Gilbert Burns got his welterweight title aspirations back on a track with a unanimous decision over Stephen Thompson in Saturday night’s UFC 264 co-main event.

All three judges scored it 29-28 for the Brazilian (20-4), who got back in the win column after his second-round TKO defeat by champion Kamaru Usman in February.

“Sorry guys, every time I step in here I try to get the finish, it was a complicated one,” Burns told Joe Rogan in his post-fight interview in the Octagon. “Boo, let‘s go, I don’t care, I need more, boo more.

“Anyone can get it, Jorge [Masvidal] if you want some, you can get it. Nate [Diaz], if you want to see who the real gangster is, Leon [Edwards] as well, let‘s go.”

After some tentative early moments in front of the watching former US President Donald Trump, who arrived to sit cageside before the bout, “Durinho” shot midway through the first round and pinned Thompson against the fence, where he kept him for most of the round with the crowd quick to show their disapproval.
