UFC 264: Dustin Poirier vows to fight Conor McGregor again ‘whether it’s in the Octagon or on the sidewalk’
- American angered by Irishman’s threats to ‘kill’ him after suffering broken leg in trilogy bout
- ‘He was putting his hand to his head like a gun. Dude, chill out,’ Poirier says

Dustin Poirier insisted he will fight Conor McGregor for a fourth time – one way or another.
“The Diamond” seemingly settled their trilogy, after winning Saturday night’s UFC 264 main event by doctor stoppage after McGregor suffered a broken leg in the final seconds of the first round.
UFC president Dana White admitted he was open to a fourth bout, given the way the fight ended, and 32-year-old American Poirier is also willing to run it back down the road – though he has more pressing matters with a title shot against lightweight champ Charles OIiveira almost certainly next.
“We are gonna fight again, whether it’s in the Octagon or on the sidewalk. You don’t say the stuff he said,” Poirier said at the post-event press conference inside T-Mobile Arena, admitting his anger at the Irishman’s threats to “kill” him before and after the bout.
Pressed further on the question of another rematch, Poirier said: “Bro, Conor McGregor is 1-3, or 1-4 in the lightweight division. Yeah, he has to win some fights. But a guy like that goes out here and starches somebody, he’s right back at the top of the contender pile, just because of his star power.”
