Conor McGregor has gone on another trademark social media diatribe against Dustin Poirier after undergoing surgery on the broken leg he suffered in Saturday night’s UFC 264 main event.

The Irishman had a rod placed in his tibia, and his fibia was fixed with a small plate and screws during a three-and-a-half hour surgery after being transported to Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai hospital from Las Vegas on Sunday.

The 32-year-old former two division champion is expected to remain in hospital until Tuesday or Wednesday, and he has been keeping his thumbs busy on Twitter while he recovers.

“Nasty pants,” wrote McGregor in a tweet featuring a video clip from the UFC 264 Countdown episode of Poirier saying “I’m dangerous, man … I’m a nasty dude, I promise you … If there’s an opportunity, I’m gonna hurt you”.

The tweet was quickly deleted, as was another containing a picture of Poirier with his young daughter from his Instagram story.
