Li Kai Wen has confirmed he finished up his ONE Championship contract with his first-round TKO defeat by Fabricio Andrade on Friday’s Winter Warriors II broadcast.
The Chinese “Underdog” admitted to having had “issues” with the Asian organisation, which forced him to see out his deal after he had been selected in March for the UFC China Academy from the promotion’s annual combine at its Shanghai Performance Institute.
“This is my 7th year in ONE Championship, and I just ended this journey with this one last fight left on the contract,” Li wrote in an Instagram post.
“We had some issues but I’m still thankful for everything ONE provided. It’s kind of a shame that I didn’t get the ‘W’ for the last one in this organisation but that’s how life is like.
“You have regrets and then you have hope. Just don’t lose the hope under any circumstances. I’ll see you guys on top.”
