UFC: Calvin Kattar returns with a big win over Giga Chikadze in featherweight thriller
- American rebounds from Max Holloway loss with thrilling decision win at UFC Vegas 46
- ‘I know I can fight like this if I have to,’ Kattar says after trading almost 300 strikes with his Georgian rival

Calvin Kattar got back to winning ways in the main event of UFC Vegas 46, defeating his opponent Giga Chikadze by unanimous decision in a frenetic featherweight brawl.
The fight, which went down on Saturday night in Las Vegas, was Kattar’s first since he absorbed almost 450 strikes in a devastating decision loss to former featherweight champion Max Holloway in January of 2021.
The 33-year-old American rebounded from that loss in a similarly taxing fight, swapping 286 strikes with his Georgian rival Chikadze before getting the judges nod.
“I knew what I had,” Kattar (23-5) said in his post-fight interview, reacting to the gruelling nature of the bout. “I think everyone else is learning. I know I can fight like this if I have to. As long as you believe in yourself that’s all that matters.”
The 33-year-old Chikadze (14-3) entered the UFC Vegas 46 headliner with victories in his first seven Octagon appearances, defeating the likes of Edson Barboza and Cub Swanson – both by stoppage.
