Three fighters failed to pass their final weight and hydration tests the morning of ONE Championship’s Only The Brave card on January 28 in Singapore.

Dovydas Rimkus and Ivan Kondratev agreed a catchweight fight (71.65 kilograms), which no longer served as a featherweight kickboxing grand prix alternate bout.

China’s Wang Shuo forfeited a percentage of his purse to Japan’s Tatsumitsu Wada. Their flyweight bout at Singapore Indoor Stadium also became a catchweight fight (61.50kg).

The card had already see two main events fall through, and on Thursday endured more drama as seven fighters failed pre-fight hydration tests at the official weigh-ins.

That number included main card stars Ruslan Emilbek (16-2) and Hiroba Minowa (13-2), who were slated to fight Zhang Lipeng (31-11-2) and Jarred Brooks at lightweight and strawweight respectively.

Asian martial arts promotion ONE facilitates pre-fight hydration tests to discourage the dangerous weight-cutting practices common throughout combat sports.
