ONE Championship rankings update: Jarred Brooks moves up at strawweight; Joshua Pacio title shot ‘very possible in 1-2 more fights’
- ‘The Monkey God’ closes in on strawweight champ, who issues response to Brooks’ call-out
- ONE chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong comments on possibility of booking the title fight

Jarred Brooks has moved up in ONE Championship’s latest rankings update, snagging the No 2 spot in the strawweight division – but he may still have to wait for a title shot against Joshua Pacio.
“The Monkey God” is the main mover after ONE’s latest event, last Friday’s Only The Brace card in Singapore.
American former UFC star Brooks (18-2) dominated Japan’s Hiroba Minowa en route to a unanimous decision, and his second win in less than three months since debuting in November.
The 28-year-old is now only behind South Africa’s undefeated “Little Giant” Bokang Masunyane in the strawweight rankings. Former title challenger Yosuke Saruta drops to the No 3 spot, with Minowa and Alex Silva staying at Nos 4 and 5 respectively.
Masunyane (8-0) earned the top spot with a spectacular 37-second head kick KO of former title challenger Rene Catalan in December 2020, but has not fought since.
Asked about the possibility of matching up Brooks and Pacio, ONE chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong hinted Masunyane may still be next for Filipino Pacio.
