Hong Kong’s first female fighter in the UFC vowed to learn from her “rookie mistakes” after suffering defeat on her debut in the Octagon.

Ramona Pascual lost a unanimous decision to Brazil’s Josiane Nunes in a featherweight fight at Saturday’s UFC Vegas 49 event.

The 33-year-old said she cut nearly 20 pounds in a week and a half to make weight for the fight, after taking it on short notice as a late replacement for Jennifer Gonzalez. The Chilean was removed from a bantamweight bout with Nunes and released by the UFC soon before her debut, following an at-home conflict with Usada.
