The line-up for ONE Championship’s 10th-anniversary celebration keeps getting better. The ONE X event, which will emanate from Singapore on March 26, already stands out as the biggest in the Asian martial arts promotion’s history, and at a Wednesday press conference in Japan with broadcaster Abema, several new matchups were confirmed. Chief among the new additions are a pair of high-stakes atomweight contests, as Japan’s Itsuki Hirata takes on Malaysia’s Jihin Radzuan, and Asha Roka of India faces Alyse Anderson of the United States. “I’m very excited. I’m looking forward to the fight,” Radzuan said, via video link from Malaysia. “She [Hirata] is very young and talented. She is undefeated. She’s a judoka – in every fight she always focuses on taking you down, doing the same things. So I think this fight there will be something different.” Hirata (5-0), who was forced out of ONE’s recent atomweight grand prix with an injury, will be looking to build on the momentum of a decision win over Anderson (5-2), who has not fought since the loss. Hirata’s opponent Radzuan (7-2) is fresh off a decision victory over Japanese veteran Mei Yamaguchi. “You can see her record is all like new signed-up fighters,” Radzuan added. “They are good but they are signed up just to fight for her and then you didn’t hear anything about them any more. Recently I fought Mei Yamaguchi, I fought Gina Iniong before. I fought beasts, and two of them were former title challengers.” Roka (4-2) will be returning from a lay-off of more than two years, which followed a pair of losses to Stamp Fairtex and Gina Iniong. It was also announced that ONE X will feature an atomweight submission grappling contest between Yamaguchi and American jiu jitsu specialist Danielle Kelly, who only recently signed with ONE. ONE X will be split into two separate cards at Singapore Indoor Stadium. The evening event is set to be broadcast on pay-per-view on Abema in Japan, with the morning card expected to be headlined by an atomweight title fight between American champion Angela Lee and Thai challenger Stamp Fairtex in a primetime slot for the US. The event will also feature a flyweight MMA title fight between champion Adriano Moraes of Brazil and challenger Yuya Wakamatsu of Japan, and a custom rules bout between flyweight Muay Thai champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon and former UFC title-holder Demetrious “Mighty” Mouse Johnson. “Yuya is a great fighter,” Moraes said, also via video link, from Florida. “He’s a striker, he’s a prospect. He’s impressive. I like the way he’s come up in the flyweight division.” “But I will defend my throne and my legacy with everything I have. On March 26 I will show him why I am the champion for such a long time,” Moraes added. “The fight will be a really long night. I’m gonna show my capoeira. I’m gonna try takedowns and taekwondo, and my karate side. The fight will be well rounded. I can’t wait.” Other highlights include a trio of ONE Super Series title fights, a submission grappling match between two-division MMA champion Reinier de Ridder and BJJ legend Andre Galvao, and a lightweight grudge match between Japanese MMA legends Shinya Aoki and Yoshihiro “Sexyama” Akiyama.
