ONE Championship 158: Joshua Pacio guarantees ‘fireworks’ as Jarred Brooks title fight is set for June 3 headliner

Jarred Brooks is finally set to get his wish and challenge Joshua Pacio for the ONE Championship strawweight MMA title.
The American grappling specialist, 29, will receive his crack at 26-year-old Filipino champion Pacio on June 3, in the headlining attraction of the ONE Championship 158 event, which is likely to take place in Singapore.
The promotion revealed the strawweight title fight on Thursday evening following an initial report from Sports Illustrated.
“It’s on,” Pacio wrote in an Instagram post. “I guarantee you it’s gonna be fireworks.”
While the date of Pacio and Brooks’ title fight was only just unveiled, the bout has been in the pipeline since last month, when the latter picked up a first-round submission victory over Bokang Masunyane in a strawweight title eliminator.
The victory pushed Brooks (19-2) to 3-0 in ONE, after a submission win over Pacio’s Team Lakay teammate Lito Adiwang and a decision win over Japan’s Hiroba Minowa.
