ONE Championship: Adriano Moraes, Demetrious Johnson set for flyweight title rematch on first live Amazon Prime Video card
- Moraes won first fight with Johnson by second-round knockout, defending the ONE flyweight title in a massive upset
- Pair’s August 27 rematch will headline promotion’s first event on Prime Video, and will air live in US prime time
Adriano Moraes and Demetrious Johnson are set to meet again.
The two flyweights will collide for a second time on the morning August 27 in Singapore, with the ONE Championship flyweight title up for grabs. The bout will headline the Asian martial arts promotion’s first event on Amazon’s Prime Video, and will air in US prime time on the evening of August 26.
The match-up was revealed during Fridays’ ONE 158 broadcast.
Moraes and Johnson first met in April of 2021. Brazil’s Moraes won the fight by second-round knockout with a knee and volley of follow-up punches, defending the ONE flyweight title in the process.
It was the first time Johnson – widely considered one of the best fighters ever – had ever been beaten by way of strikes, and it registered as one of the biggest upsets in MMA history.
The 33-year-old Moraes (20-3) has defended the flyweight title once since that stunning victory, defeating Japanese knockout artist Yuya Wakamatsu by third-round submission at the ONE X event in Singapore in March.

Former UFC champion Johnson (23-4-1), who defend his title a record 11 consecutive times, rebounded from his loss to Moraes at the same event, defeating Muay Thai juggernaut Rodtang Jitmuangnon by submission in a special rules attraction. The 35-year-old American remains one of the biggest stars in ONE.
ONE Championship’s broadcast deal with Prime Video was announced last month, soon after the promotion’s last US broadcast deal expired.
No other bouts have been confirmed for ONE’s debut on the streaming platform, but more announcements should be made soon.
