ONE Championship 161 finalised line-up features return of ‘Reug Reug’ Oumar Kane
- Reug Reug has not fought since an early 2021 loss to Kirill Grishenko, but is now set to return on September 29 in Singapore
- Finalised card also features a featherweight Muay Thai title fight and semi-final round of ONE’s heavyweight kickboxing Grand Prix

If you thought we had seen the last of Oumar Kane in the ONE Championship Circle, think again.
The 30-year-old will finally end his lengthy absence at ONE 161 on September 29 in Singapore, when he takes on debuting Russian Batradz Gazzaev. The heavyweight match-up was revealed by the promotion this week, along with the completed line-up for the event.
Reug Reug, who will return to action on the undercard, had some success in the early going of his loss to Grishenko, but wilted to the canvas moments after the second round concluded, clutching his throat in apparent discomfort. He could not continue fighting, and therefore lost by TKO.
He later claimed that he was struck after the round ended, and that he would be appealing the result in the hope that it would ruled a No Contest, but his efforts to undo the loss were fruitless.
Before his loss to Grishenko, he was unbeaten in his first three MMA bouts. His first fight occurred in Ares FC, where he defeated Sofiane Boukichou by second-round TKO. He then moved to ONE, where he defeated Alain Ngalani and Patrick Schmid by first-round TKO in his first two bouts.
His opponent Gazzaev, 30, will make his ONE debut with stoppage wins in his first three MMA contests, all of which occurred on the Russian regional circuit.
