ONE Championship and Eddie Alvarez have parted ways, a source has told the Post.

Both parties agreed to an early release from his contract, the source said. It is unclear how many fights he had remaining on his deal, but he is now a free agent.

Former UFC lightweight champion Alvarez (30-8, 2 no contests) had not fought in the Singapore-based martial arts promotion since a unanimous decision defeat by Ok Rae-yoon in April 2021.

“The Underground King” later confirmed the news in a post on his official Twitter account.

“I am no longer with ONE,” he wrote. “We parted ways amicably and I remain on good terms with the ONE team.

Despite a rough start in ONE, where he went 1-2 with 1 no contest, the 38-year-old veteran said in July he was still hoping to get the details of his next fight worked out soon.
