ONE Championship: Prime Video 3 gets two more title fights, Lea Bivins’ rescheduled MMA debut

  • Event slated for October 22 in Kuala Lumpur will be topped by a bantamweight MMA title fight between champ John Lineker and challenger Fabricio Andrade
  • Lightweight kickboxing champ Regian Eersel will co-headline opposite Sinsamut Klinmee, while MMA prospect Bivins will debut on the undercard

ONE Championship’s third event on Prime Video is coming together nicely.

The card, slated for October 22 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, will be headlined by a bantamweight MMA title fight between champion John Lineker and challenger Fabricio Andrade, both of Brazil. While that fight was announced some time ago, that rest of the card was a mystery until recently.

Over the last week, ONE has revealed multiple new matchups for the event in Kuala Lumpur – its first in Malaysia since before the pandemic.

Regian Eersel and Arian Sadikovic embrace after their lightweight kick-boxing title fight at ONE 156 in Singapore.

Chief among the new additions is a fight between lightweight kickboxing champion Regian Eersel of the Netherlands and Sinsamut Klinmee of Thailand, which will crown the promotion’s first lightweight Muay Thai champion.

Eersel is riding four successful title defences, while Sinsamut has knocked out Nieky Holzken and Liam Nolan in his first two bouts in ONE.

The card will also feature the latest appearance from American grappling star Kade Ruotolo, who recently impressed by becoming the youngest-ever ADCC champion.

He will look to build on the momentum of a decision win over Shinya Aoki in his ONE debut when he takes Uali Kurzhev, a sambo specialist, with the promotion’s vacant lightweight submission grappling title on the line.

Thailand’s Panpayek Jitmuangnon and Superlek Kiatmoo9 are also set to meet on the card.

The bout will crown the winner of ONE’s injury-riddled flyweight Muay Thai Grand Prix. That fighter will presumably get the next shot at the winner of an upcoming title fight between divisional champ Rodtang Jitmuangnon, and Italy’s Joseph Lasiri, ONE’s strawweight Muay Thai champ.

Panpayek earned his place in the finals with a knockout of Savvas Michael, while Superlek knocked out Walter Goncalves to advance.

Highly touted MMA prospect Lea Bivins, a training partner of Angela and Victoria Lee, will also make her professional debut on the card.

The 20-year-old American was slated to debut against India’s Zeba Bano in July, but the fight fell through after Bano failed to make weight. She will now meet 26-year-old Dutchwoman Noelle Grandjean, who trains out of Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket.

The main card also features a strawweight MMA bout between Jeremy Miado of the Philippines and No 5-ranked contender Danial Williams of Australia.

A featherweight MMA contest between No 2-ranked Kim Jae-woong of South Korea, and undefeated Russian newcomer Shamil Gasanov (12-0), could also determine the next title contender for champion Tang Kai.
