John Lineker has lost his ONE Championship bantamweight title on the scale, a source has confirmed to the Post.

The Brazilian failed to make weight for Saturday morning’s ONE on Prime Video 3 main event in Kuala Lumpur, and his belt has been vacated, a move that was first reported by MMA Fighting.

His opponent, Fabricio Andrade, can still win the title after hitting the mark at Friday’s official weigh-ins and hydration tests.

“Charles Oliveira situation,” the Post was told by a source with knowledge of the matter, referencing the former UFC lightweight champion who was stripped of his title in May after coming in half a pound heavy for a title fight with Justin Gaethje.

Like Oliveira, 32-year-old Lineker (35-9) – who missed weight multiple times at two different weight classes in the UFC – put the problem down to using an incorrectly calibrated scale before stepping on the official one.

“That mistake happened because his scale was off in his room, lighter than the official one,” Lineker’s manager Alex Davis told MMA Fighting. “When that happens, you have a second attempt to make weight but you have to pass the hydration test again. He couldn’t do it.
