Meng Bo has called for a rematch with Tiffany Teo after putting the ONE Championship strawweight division on notice with a 24-second TKO.
The 26-year-old Chinese star battered Jenelyn Olsim to silence the home crowd at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila last weekend, kicking off the ONE 164 card in style.
A huge right hand sent the Filipino to the canvas almost immediately, and she followed up with some elbows on the ground to seal the deal – and put her rivals on notice.
“Yes, my arms are very strong. Are you scared?” Meng told the Post with a smile.
It was a case of “Meng Bo 2.0”, with the former atomweight contender looking much more comfortable in her new division in her second strawweight fight.


She put the improvements down to her coaching team at her new training base of Bangtao Muay Thai & MMA in Phuket, Thailand, with George Hickman making the trip to corner her in Manila.
“I’m very thankful, especially to my trainers and my friends, and all of the team who have helped,” Meng said.
“Every day we have training, [Hickman is] like my opponent and we exchange and that’s how I learn all of the techniques and strategies.
“It has helped me to improve and at the same time I have become stronger because of that.”

That first fight at strawweight was, of course, a loss to Singapore’s Teo, who submitted her in the second round with a rear naked choke in January.
But she looked a different fight in the Philippines – and is confident she could get a different outcome in a rematch.
“I wanted to have a next fight with Tiffany because last time I lost to her. I want to try it again and see how the result will be,” Meng said.
“My performance last time was not really bad, just maybe the confidence was lower. But now I’m more confident so I think I can do better this time.”

The only blot on Meng’s copybook in Manila was the fact she missed weight, coming in with just five minutes remaining in the three-hour window and failing her hydration test.
Olsim accepted a catchweight, and Meng got the job done, but she insisted she will not have the same issue next time.
“I have tried working on the hydration part. With that, I’m really doing my best to improve it. If I can improve it, I can do better also,” she said.
“I’m more confident and I’m happier since I have won.”
