Chingiz Allazov is still only a day removed from a stunning ONE Championship title win over Superbon Singha Mawynn, and he is already setting his sights on another titan of the kickboxing world.

The Georgian-born Belarusian challenged Superbon for featherweight kickboxing gold in the headlining attraction of the ONE Championship Fight Night 6 event on Saturday morning in Bangkok.

He ended up winning the fight with an emphatic second-round TKO after dropping the champion three times in a matter of seconds, and is now calling for the opportunity to move up to lightweight to challenge champion Regian Eersel in a bid for a second belt.

“I like this fight,” the new featherweight champion told the Post in Bangkok, setting his sights on the Dutchman. “I have power, and I’ll have another game plan for this fight. If ONE gives me this fight, we’ll do this.”

After beating Superbon, Allazov is widely considered the greatest pound-for-pound talent in all of kickboxing – so he is certainly well positioned to call for a fight with Eersel, who has already defended his belt four times.

However, the featherweight division is currently swarming with dangerous contenders, so the 29-year-old may first be asked to defend his belt a few times.

In that event, he seems to view Armenia’s Marat Grigorian as the next man in line for a title shot. Yet he also sees Armenian-Italian kickboxing legend Giorgio Petrosyan, who has not fought in ONE since a devastating knockout loss to Superbon, as an interesting option.
