There are some very tough fights on the horizon for Fabricio Andrade, but the ONE Championship MMA star is not sweating his competition.
Andrade, 25, is set to return to action in the main event of ONE Fight Night 7 on March 25 in Bangkok, Thailand, when he meets fellow Brazilian John Lineker with the bantamweight MMA title on the line. It will be the second time the two knockout artists have met the Circle.
Their first fight headlined ONE Fight Night 3 in Kuala Lumpur last October. Lineker started Fight Week as the bantamweight champion, but was stripped of the belt when he missed the division’s weight limit. Unfortunately, the fight itself then ended with a No Contest after Andrade landed an inadvertent low blow that shattered Lineker’s cup, meaning the bantamweight throne remained vacant.
It was a disastrous saga for both men, and a particularly painful one for Lineker. And according to Andrade, the sequel will be even more unpleasant for his Brazilian rival.
“I don’t care how prepared he is,” Andrade told the Post. “This time it’s going to be even worse.
