ONE Championship’s debut Friday Fights card at the famed Lumpinee Stadium was a ratings hit, finishing as the most watched show in prime time in Thailand according to data released by Nielsen.
It finished No 1 in its 8.30pm to 10pm time slot, Nielsen said, with a 3.9 rating among males 15 years old and over, and a 3.0 rating among all ages four and over.
ONE chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong thanked the Thai fans and the fighters – and even the Prime Minister – for the success of the event, which he said beat all other channels and content categories, including soap operas.
“Thailand has the greatest fans in the world. We made history together,” Chatri wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday. “Words cannot express my love for our Thai fans. I am humbled and touched.
“Thank you to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and all of the Ministers in the Thai government for your leadership. Thank you to everyone in the Royal Thai Army for your support and belief. Thank you to everyone at the Sports Authority of Thailand for your passion and help.
